TU Berlin: PostDoc-Position in Combinatorial Optimization (1year + up to
2 years extension)

We seek a postdoctoral researcher with an outstanding track record in
combinatorial optimization, desirably robust network design or robust
optimization.
The candidate will run the RobuNet project together with a PhD student
and senior researchers from TU Berlin. RobuNet aims at designing
approximation algorithms for robust problems arising in large-scale
logistic networks, containing facility location, routing, and packing
problems. The underlying models including a suitable concept of
uncertainty will be developed in close and fruitful cooperation with our
partner in the logistics industry. The project is expected to deliver
groundbreaking methods for optimizing logistic networks under
uncertainty. The postdoctoral researcher will drive this methodological
innovation.

The successful applicant will be part of the COGA (Combinatorial
Optimization and Graph Algorithms) group at TU Berlin mathematics
department. Moreover, the candidate will benefit from the huge
mathematical research environment in Berlin, which is particularly
strong in the field of combinatorics and combinatorial optimization not
the least due to the MDS (Methods for Discrete Structures Research
Training Group), the DFG-Research Center MATHEON, and the BMS (Berlin
Mathematical School).

The salary will be based on the German public service salary level TV-L
13. The position can be filled at earliest convenience.
