[DMANET] Call for Abstracts/Participation: EURO 2015 stream on Data Science for Optimisation

Dear Colleague,

The 27th European Conference on Operational Research, EURO 2015
(http://www.euro2015.org/) will take place in Glasgow, on July 12-15th, we
will be organising a stream on

"Data Science for Optimisation".

We invite you to contribute to one of the following sessions within the Data
Science for Optimisation Stream:

- Adaptive Runtime Operator Selection and Hyper-heuristics (invitation code:
2d033f15)

Session Chair: Daniel Karapetyan

- Machine Learning for Improved Heuristic Optimisation (invitation code:
376b1a47)

Session Chair: Shahriar Asta

- Automated Algorithm Configuration and Selection (invitation code:
9d71f2a1)

Session Chair: Kevin Tierney

Please submit your abstract to the appropriate session using the
corresponding invitation code via the abstract submission page:
http://www.euro-online.org/conf/euro27.

The deadline is March 16, 2015.

If you know a colleague who might be interested in submitting an abstract
please feel free to forward this invitation.

The general scope of the stream is the usage of data science methods,
including machine learning and statistics, to improve the effectiveness of
optimisation and metaheuristics, as well as to reduce the time and cost of
producing and maintaining them. The broader aim is to encourage interaction
between optimisation and data science; bringing together researchers and
practitioners from related fields, such as Operational Research (OR),
Artificial Intelligence, Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

- heuristics that exploit data science techniques, such as machine learning,
data mining, statistical analysis or analytics

- (automated) parameter tuning/control in (meta)heuristics

- (meta)heuristics to generate (create) heuristics (e.g., generation
hyper-heuristics)

- (meta)heuristics to choose heuristics (e.g., selection hyper-heuristics,
adaptive operator selection)

- self-adaptive (meta)heuristics

- reactive search

- software tools and frameworks

- performance prediction, performance robustness and scalability issues

We hope that you are interested in contributing to the stream. If you have
any questions, or wish to organise a session, then please do not hesitate to
contact us. Apologies, if you have received multiple copies of this
announcement.

Best Wishes

Stream Organisers

Patrick De Causmaecker, Ender Ozcan, Andrew Parkes
